Recently I had inspiration to do a makeover on this bookshelf.
My inspiration came from lil pink pocket
I’ve had this shelf for at least 20 years.  My father-in-law made it.  He’s no longer with us.  He passed away a long time ago.

There are quite a few flaws on it, but I have always just over looked them.  See the crack going up the back?  It has some unfinished doors that attached on the bottom half. (not pictured) The doors weren’t solid doors.  They had cut outs.  Anyways, I’ve never liked them.
So off they go!

First off, I filled some cracks and holes with wood filler.  Then I sprayed Kiltz Primer all over it.  I let that dry overnight.  Then I sprayed 2 coats of Rustoleum spray paint on it and let it dry for about 5 hours. I’ve never spray painted much of anything before.

So this was an adventure.
I used wrapping paper on the inside.  Yep, just simple wrapping paper that you would wrap someone’s gift. I used spray adhesive for the glue.

Doesn’t it look sweet?  I think so.
Here it is back in it’s old spot in the kitchen.
But what a difference in how it looks.
